English Lesson No. C1:

"Spelling" MUST Be Used

Master Fard Muhammad introduces Himself to the Lost-Found Members of the Nation of Islam in the West through English Lesson No C1. He refers to Himself as W. F. Muhammad. The first sentence of the English Lesson states, “My name is W. F. Muhammad.” He says, “I came to North America by myself.” And that, “My uncle was brought over here by the Trader three hundred seventy-nine years ago. My uncle cannot talk his own Language. He does not know that he is my uncle”. The uncle of Mr. Muhammad is in a hellish condition. He cannot talk his own language, or he cannot communicate with others properly. And he suffers from a form of amnesia because he does not know his family members. These conditions set up a problem to be solved by the reader. In order to solve any problem, we must first identify the factors in the problem. We can solve it in two different manners or we can solve it in both ways – mathematically and inductively. This article is the first in a series of articles on the topic of English Lesson No. C1.

According to the eighth instruction Given to The Laborers By Our Saviour, W. D. Fard Muhammad, He instructs the laborers on this wise – “ENGLISH LESSON #C1: Spelling must be used by all Muslim girls and mothers to their children for Bedtime Study; also in regular Courses. Muslim girls must get away from reading that Devil’s Bedtime Story to their children.” In this article we will look more deeply into this English Lesson and some of its possible meanings.

What is English? English is a West Germanic language that was first spoken in early medieval times. Named after the Angles, one of the Germanic tribes that migrated to England, it ultimately derives its name from the Anglia (Angeln) peninsula in the Baltic Sea. In the history of Europe, the Middle Ages (or Medieval period) lasted from 601 AD to 1500 AD. It began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery.

The first word in the above statements from Master Fard Muhammad that I would like to draw your attention to is the word “Spelling” in relationship to the English Lesson. “Spelling must be used”...This statement is a command. What is spelling and how does this relate to the narrative of Master Fard Muhammad’s uncle? The root of the word Spelling is “spell” plus the suffix “ing”. Taken as a noun, the definition of the word “spell” in Old English is a story, saying, tale, history, narrative, fable, discourse or a command. In Gothic, “spill” meant a report, discourse, tale, fable or myth. A spell is known as an utterance, something said, a statement, a remark meaning a set of words with supposed magical or occult powers, an incantation or a charm. This meaning was first recorded in the 1570s and hence spell is any means or cause of enchantment.

The term 'spell' is generally used for magical procedures which cause harm, or force people to do something against their will ["Oxford Dictionary of English Folklore"] Also in Old English, a spell is a doctrine, a sermon, religious instruction or teaching, the gospel or a book of the Bible.

Spell also means to find out by study or come to understand. It is a spoken word or form of words held to have magic power or a state of enchantment. And a spell is a strong compelling influence or attraction.

The father of the Devils, Mr. Yakub was the Founder of Unalike Attract and Like Repel. “When Yakub was six years old, while playing with two pieces of steel, he discovered one piece had magnetic in it and the other piece did not. Then he learned that the piece with magnetic attracted the piece that did not have magnetic in it. Then he told his people that when he was old enough, he would make a nation that would be unalike, and he would teach them Tricknology, and they would rule for six thousand years” according to Lost-Found Muslim Lesson No. 2. Young Mr. Yakub made a promise that he and his Nation would make a Devil; graft him from his own people; and that he would teach them how to rule his people for six thousand years. He was born with this predetermined idea. This was Yakub’s curse. A curse is a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to come upon one. A curse is also a profane or obscene oath or word.

In Our Saviour Has Arrived on page 125, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes, “The curse of Yakub and his people veils all of the earth and the atmosphere of the earth. How might Mr. Yakub have gone about keeping his promise or oath. We are taught that we (the righteous people) ran the Devils over the Arabian Desert. We took from them everything except the language. Language is a system that consists of the development, acquisition, maintenance and use of complex systems of communication, particularly the human ability to do so, and a language is any specific example of such a system. In layman’s terms, language consists of words, their pronunciation, and the methods of combining them that are used and understood by a community. Tricknology is a system. It is a system of tricks and lies. In other words, Tricknology is a language or a way of communicating using deceptive speech. In The Message to the Blackman on page 112, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad states, “…he (young Yakub) saw an unlike human being, made to attract others, who could, with the knowledge of tricks and lies, rule the original black man - until that nation could produce one greater and capable of overcoming and making manifest his race of tricks and lies, with a nation of truth.”

The curse, oath or word of Mr. Yakub was carried out through Spelling (Spell-ing). Spelling in and of itself is not nefarious. Remember that spelling consists of stories, sayings, tales, histories, narratives, fables, discourse, commands, reports and myths. And even sets of words with magical or occult powers, incantations, charms or any means or cause of enchantment. It is the use of Spelling along with a curse the that produced a harmful effect. Hence, this is why the uncle of Mr. W. F. Muhammad cannot talk his own language and he does not know that he is Mr. Muhammad’s uncle. He is under a spell cast by the curse of Yakub.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad continues in Our Saviour Has Arrived on page 125, “After the removal of the curse of Yakub there will be a new way of thinking by a new God. He is Superior to all other gods who Existed before Him. The power of heaven and earth will submit to His Power and a change is made easy and inevitable; for the heavens and the earth are controlled by the God of the Black Man, Allah, Who Came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom Praises are due forever.”

Next time, we intend to go deeper into the English Lesson (English Language) by examining the connection between Yakub’s curse, “cursive” handwriting and using words to form sentences. What is a sentence? Examine all of the meanings of the word. The Devil uses words intended to produce an effect. Yakub’s curse runs deep into our psyche. It is in the very language that we use to communicate, especially our young people with their unconscious use of curse words, cursing or swearing. The goal of this series of articles is to provoke thought on the meaning of the English Language.

A final note. In Our Saviour Has Arrived, two paragraphs prior to the one about Yakub’s curse, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes, “In the new world you will not even be able to speak The English language. The speaking of the English language by us will be stopped. No language of the wicked should be spoken by the righteous, as there are some in Islam, in the Orthodox Muslim world, whom I have met myself, and they refuse to speak English; for it is an infidel language. This is the truth. English is a bastard language, for it is a language that is made up of other languages. It is a dependent language. So we see here why it is necessary for us to have a new language.”

English Lesson No. C 1 Part II

The Language of The Devils

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said that a “lesson” when learned becomes a part of you. Another way of saying it is that when you have learned a lesson, it becomes a part of your conscience or your inner thoughts. What lesson are we to learn from the English Lesson given to us from Master Fard Muhammad? What is it about that Lesson that He intended for it to become of part of our consciousness? A lesson is defined as a useful piece of practical wisdom acquired by experience or study, a reproof or punishment intended to teach one better ways, or a section into which a course of study is divided. Why is it an English Lesson? Is the English Lesson in reference to the English language? The enemy stripped us of our own language and replaced it with his language. The Devil used his language to produce an effect in the mind, to form and regulate our thinking and actions. Let us examine the connection between thought, mind and language and its effect on our behavior. And finally let us consider the language of the Devils and how it has been effective in keeping us in bondage, that is until Allah (God) came to free the captive. He came to break the curse of Yakub and reverse the spell that he cast upon us with his words – the language.

Language shapes thought. Language is a system that consists of the development, acquisition, maintenance and use of complex systems of communication, particularly the human ability to do so.

For the most part we speak the language of our oppressors and our open enemies either as a first, second or third language, therefore he has an open avenue to our minds. The main use of language is to transfer thoughts from one mind, to another mind. The bits of linguistic information that enter into one person's mind, from another, cause people to entertain a new thought with profound effects on his world knowledge, inferencing, and subsequent behavior.

The Original Man is righteous by nature, but we have become sinful by our thoughts and actions. Why is this? And how did this become so? The Black man and woman in America as well as all Original people throughout the world have been under the spell of The Devil for the last 6,000 years and with his cunning use of language, he has caused us to act other than our own self which is a righteous Muslim. “Are there any Muslims other than righteous? The Saviour answered His own question by replying, “I beg your pardon! I have never heard of one.” The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan explained that The Saviour’s use of the term “make other than his own self” is a euphemistic term for being made into the opposite of righteous which is sinful. For this condition in which Master Fard Muhammad found us, He beg for our pardon as we were made that way by an evil task master.

The Devil got into our mind by the use of language. He covered or buried our God-consciousness deep within the recesses of our minds. With the cunning use of his language, he has been able to get us to see ourselves as nothing. Through that process we became as the dead, intellectually, mentally, morally and spiritually. But what is consciousness and how did the Devil put to sleep the god of self? Consciousness is the sense of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of one's own conduct, intentions, or character together with a feeling of obligation to do right or be good. The conscience is the part of the superego in psychoanalysis that transmits commands and admonitions to the ego.

The uncle of Mr. W. F. Muhammad could not talk his own language so therefore he had to speak the language of another. His uncle could speak the Devil’s language or use the Devil’s tongue to communicate thought. In America, the language that the devil used was the English language. Did the Devil code into his language snares and traps to keep us in a cage? Let us see. Have we been serving a 6,000-year sentence that we must use the 36 sentences contained in English Lesson No. C1 to unlock the door to the 2,000-mile by 3,000-mile cage?

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan stated, “Allah gives to every creature the ability to communicate with its own to be able to share with other members of its species, what its aim is, what its desire is and the fulfillment of the natural inclination of the species. The highest manifestation of communication is language that He gives to the human to express its desires, its concerns, its needs, its disappointments, its frustrations. But all of it is manifested through language. The art of communication is a lost art among human beings. I guess the Tower of Babel and the confusion of languages is demonstrative of the chastisement of God in disallowing human beings to be able to communicate at the highest level. With us as a people that were taken from our original language and culture, we have developed skill in communicating through various means; sometimes other than language. But the highest form of communication is language that is used to communicate the wisdom of God.

English is the third most-spoken native language in the world, after Standard Chinese and Spanish. According to the Center for Applied Linguistics, “English is a vibrant and international language with twenty percent of the world’s population speaking English as native, second or foreign language. In addition to its status as a mother tongue in many countries, global use of English is growing for communication among speakers of other languages in places where English is not the majority language.” The question is why is the English language being propagated so prolifically throughout the world?

As stated earlier, the main use of language is to transfer thoughts from one mind, to another mind. When we ran Yakub’s made devil from among us, we took from them everything except the language. Mr. Yakub and his made devil did not speak English because the English language had not come into use until almost 4,500 years later. They spoke Arabic or Aramaic according to The Honorable Elijah Muhammad. On page 113 of The Message to the Blackman in America, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes, “On entering the prison, the King was shown Yakub's cell. "As-Salaam Alaikum." The King said: "So you are Mr. Yakub?" He said: "Yes, I am." The King said: "Yakub, I have come to see if we could work out some agreement that would bring about an end to this trouble. What would you suggest?" This is where ‘The Deal” began. From that point forward, the world has been under Yakub’s curse and it runs deep into our psyche.

On the subject of Yakub’s curse, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad explains that Mr. Yakub transmitted his curse through written instructions – the language. In the section titled “Devil” on page 116 of The Message to the Blackman in America Mr. Muhammad writes, “Of course, Mr. Yakub lived but 150 years; but, his ideas continued in practice. He gave his people guidance in the form of literature. What they should do and how to do it (how to rule the black nation). He said to them: "When you become unalike (white), you may return to the Holy Land and people, from whom you were exiled."” Mr. Yakub taught his people some of the Tricknology, which was devilishment—telling lies, stealing and how to master the original man. The devil’s language can be transmitted in any tongue. It is the motive behind the words. The made devil used the language of the original man to tell lies which is the opposite of the truth – devilishment. However, over time, the devil grafted a language like he himself was grafted to best transmit his devilshment (The English Language). In the Devil’s master plan, he would give the people a language in which they will be unaware of the encoded “spells” that are being cast over their conscience. Therefore, he would be cursed by his own tongue until he could see the truth. In the language such grammatic conventions exists such as homophones, homographs and anagrams.

A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same (to varying extent) as another word but differs in meaning. A homophone may also differ in spelling. The two words may be spelled the same, such as rose (flower) and rose (past tense of "rise"), or differently, such as carat, caret, and carrot, or to, two, and too. Here are additional examples of homophones: Cell/Sell: If you sell drugs, you will get arrested and end up in a prison cell, Die/Dye: If you accidentally drank a bottle of fabric dye, you might die, Sole/Soul: I need to get a new sole put on my favorite pair of running shoes. Jogging is good for my soul, Son/Sun: My son is 13 years old. He likes to spend time outside in the sun.

A homograph is a word that shares the same written form as another word but has a different meaning. An example of a homograph is the word subject which means both- under some authority or control, to bring under authority or control, to make liable or vulnerable and a topic or the noun in a sentence about which something is said in the predicate. Or the word sentence which could mean a set of words that is complete in itself, typically containing a subject and predicate, conveying a statement, question, exclamation, or command, and consisting of a main clause and sometimes one or more subordinate clauses, or the punishment assigned to a defendant found guilty by a court, or fixed by law for a particular offense. And lastly, anagrams. An anagram is a word, phrase, or name formed by rearranging the letters of another such as; “words” and “swords,” or Santa and Satan, and one that we are so familiar with, God and dog. So therefore, if we are not aware of what we say and the various meanings of words that we use, we can invoke a curse unaware.

“Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” James 3:9-11

English is a relatively new language in the world today. It had developed over the course of more than 1,400 years. This is an extremely important point to note that Early Modern English began in the late 15th century with the introduction of the printing press to London, the printing of the King James Bible and the start of the Great Vowel Shift. This time in history marks the loosing of the Devil out of Europe which would usher his conquest, enslavement and deception of the peoples of the world. The Europeans used religion as a justification of the enslavement of indigenous people and the transatlantic slave trade. These facts are keys to understanding how the language was used to enslave the very people that Allah would come to save, the so-called Negros of North America or the Lost-Found Nation of Islam in the West.

The English language has been a tool of enslavement of the mind, so therefore we must learn our English lesson to return to our Original land, our own country or our Original Mind. Remember that a lesson once learned becomes a part of you and can be a useful piece of practical wisdom acquired by experience or study, a reproof or punishment intended to teach one better ways. One of the Conference Members by the name of Mr. Osman Sharrieff said to the Eleven Members of the Conference: “The Lost Found Nation of Islam will not return to their original Land unless they first have a thorough knowledge of their own” which includes an English Lesson.

The enslaved black man and woman in North America were eventually given the religion of Christianity by the slave-masters, once they fixed the words of the Bible in place to support their dehumanization of the original peoples of the Earth. The King James Authorized Version of the Bible was translated with the intent of using it as a tool of the Christian religion for the purposes of firmly establishing a system of White Supremacy and for enslaving the darker people. And the Great Vowel Shift was done to remove the power from the words by in that the frequency of the word was changed. Sound or vibration shapes matter. Perhaps This is why the Saviour said that The Laborers must Speak and Use grammatic pronunciation of words and syllables. English grammar is the way in which meanings are encoded into wordings in the English language. This includes the structure of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences, right up to the structure of whole texts. There is more to be understood in the words.

The Great Vowel Shift was a massive sound change affecting the long vowels of English during the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries. Basically, the long vowels shifted upwards; that is, a vowel that used to be pronounced in one place in the mouth would be pronounced in a different place, higher up in the mouth. The Great Vowel Shift has had long-term implications for, among other things, orthography, the teaching of reading, and the understanding of any English-language text written before or during the Shift. An orthography is a set of conventions for writing a language. It includes norms of spelling, hyphenation, capitalization, word breaks, emphasis, and punctuation

Earlier in European history, the English language went through a consonant shift known as Grimm’s Law of Consonants. Grimm's law (also known as the First Germanic Sound Shift or Rask's rule) is a set of statements named after Jacob (Yakub) Grimm and Rasmus Rask describing the Proto-Indo-European stop consonants as they developed in Proto-Germanic (the common ancestor of the Germanic branch of the Indo-European family) in the 1st millennium BC. Jacob Grimm is on of the two famed Brothers Grimm. The Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, were German academics, philologists, cultural researchers, lexicographers and authors who together collected and published folklore during the 19th century. Philology is the study of language in oral and written historical sources; it is the intersection between textual criticism, literary criticism, history, and linguistics Philology is more commonly defined as the study of literary texts as well as oral and written records, the establishment of their authenticity and their original form, and the determination of their meaning. A person who pursues this kind of study is known as a philologist.

The Brothers Grimm were among the first and best-known collectors of folk tales, and popularized traditional oral tale types such as "Cinderella", "The Frog Prince", "The Goose-Girl", "Hansel and Gretel", "Rapunzel", "Rumpelstiltskin", "Sleeping Beauty" and "Snow White". Their classic collection Children's and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausmärchen), was published in two volumes, in 1812 and in 1815. Please keep this in mind for Part III of The English Lesson: Muslim Girls Must Get Away From Reading That Devil’s Bedtime Story To Their Children.

I encourage you to do your own research into this subject. The language enslaved us and through the proper use of the language and the keys contained therein, can free us. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is the perfect example of someone who has mastered the English language an speaks it in its proper term. We MUST study his words and his ways carefully because he is the door.

In closing this point on the Devil’s Language, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes in Our Saviour Has Arrived on pages 124-125, “In the new world you will not even be able to speak the English language.

Yakub’s curse had a 6,000-year time factor attached to it which expired in the year 1914. For 6,000 years the Devil and Satan sought to deceive the whole world through the use of language.

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9

Please refer to the Self-Improvement Study Guide No. 10: The Will of God by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for more information on the Id, Ego and the Superego.

English Lesson No. C1 Part III:

Muslim Girls Must Get Away From Reading That Devil’s Bedtime Story To Their Children

Taking up where we left off in the last article, in the eighth instruction Given to The Laborers By Our Saviour, W. D. Fard Muhammad which reads “ENGLISH LESSON #C1: Spelling must be used by all Muslim girls and mothers to their children for Bedtime Study; also in regular Courses. Muslim girls must get away from reading that Devil’s Bedtime Story to their children,” we will delve into the meaning of and the comparison and contrast of bedtime study and bedtime stories, and how this is related to the condition of the uncle of Mr. W. F. Muhammad in English Lesson No. C1.

First let us investigate the word bedtime. Bedtime, also called putting to bed or tucking in, is a ritual part of parenting to help children feel more secure and become accustomed to a more rigid schedule of sleep than they might prefer. The bedtime ritual may involve bedtime stories, children's songs, nursery rhymes, bed-making and getting children to change into nightwear. In some religious households, prayers are said shortly before going to bed. Research shows that bedtime routines have a positive effect on a child’s wellbeing and behavior.

The ritual of bedtime is aimed at facilitating the transition from wakefulness to sleep. This period of the sleep cycle is characterized by brain waves functioning in the theta frequency range of about 4-8 cycles per second. According to an article title, “Theta Waves: The Benefits of Daydreaming and Deep Meditation” by Mindvalley.com, it states

Theta waves are associated with dreaming sleep, super learning, creativity, daydreaming, and deep meditation. And with emotional surges, self-reprogramming, and spiritual experiences. If you’re interested in improving your problem-solving, spiritual connection, intuition, imagination, creativity, and physical relaxation, you’ll want to spend more time in theta. Little kids spend a LOT of time in theta. Not only are kids highly imaginative, but like little sponges, they are open to all new ideas. They don’t pre-judge an idea based on their past, like adults do.

Master Fard Muhammad instructed all Muslim girls must get away from reading the Devil’s Bedtime Story to their children. A story is a lie, falsehood, a usually imaginative narrative of an event or an intentionally untrue report. As stated in the last blog, English Lesson No. C 1: Spelling Must Be Used, spelling (spells) must be used to reverse Yakub’s Curse. The word “spell” in Old English is a story, saying, tale, history, narrative, fable, discourse or a command. In Gothic, “spill” meant a report, discourse, tale, fable or myth. A spell is known as an utterance, something said, a statement, a remark meaning a set of words with supposed magical or occult powers, an incantation or a charm. The Devil’s Bedtime Story is mean for harm where as Bedtime Study is a time for Muslim Women and girls to program children for super learning.

Let us look at an example of a popular bedtime prayer that many of us learned as children, the “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Prayer.” It reads as follows:

"Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep;

If I die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen"

Research suggests that the prayer came from Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep prayer entered American culture through a book published in Boston by Benjamin Harris. He included the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep prayer in The New England Primer which was the first textbook in British America and became a basic schoolbook among the Puritans in the American colonies. It was a catechism intended for children and illustrated with engravings designed to hold their attention. In addition to questions and answers about their religion, boys and girls could find pious sayings and simple prayers. The famous prayer under discussion here did not appear until the edition of 1737; from then on it became widely known. This is a page out of the 1750 edition of The New England Primer where the prayer appears.

As we conclude this article, let us look at Bedtime Study. Study is a state of contemplation, application of the mental faculties to the acquisition of knowledge, careful or extended consideration or a careful examination or analysis of a phenomenon, development, or question. Applying Bedtime Study to English Lesson No. C 1 to be read to our children and recited by ourselves as we enter into our bedtime or the super learning phase of sleep, the theta wave cycle, we are entering the Mind of Master Fard Muhammad as He states, “My Name is W. F. Muhammad. I came to North America by myself.” Here learn of how the Uncle of Mr. W. F. Muhammad has been locked up in the cage of his thinking by the Devil’s Language (Letter, Words, Sentences and Stories)– The English Lesson.
